Wisbech area residents will be enjoying temperatures up to 33C on hottest day of the year

The sun will shine on Fenland tomorrow (Friday) on what could be the hottest day of the year.

According to the Met Office, tomorrow the area will enjoy prolonged periods of sunshine and a maximum temperature of 33 degrees, with the weather remaining hot and increasingly humid later in the day.

However, residents will want to make the most of the sunshine as there is chance that the odd heavy shower or thunderstorm may develop during the evening.

The weather is expected to turn much fresher again over the weekend, although remaining very warm on Saturday, with sunny spells and a scattering of showers.

Highs of 24 degrees are expected on Saturday and 22 degrees on Sunday.
