Arrest after four vehicle crash shuts busy Fenland road




A driver has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a four-vehicle crash in Wisbech this morning (Thursday).

The incident happened at around 6.35am at the Elme Hall roundabout on the A47.

The driver gave a roadside breath test of 136mcg – the legal limit is 35mcg in 100ml of breath.

The road was blocked causing traffic congestion, but reopened at around 9am.

It is unclear if anyone was hurt in the collision, but ambulance were in attendance and it is thought two people may have suffered minor injuries.

A police spokesperson said: “One of the drivers has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after blowing 136 at the roadside – the legal limit is 35.”
