Arson attack blamed for fire at Wisbech business premises
Arson has been blamed for a fire at a Wisbech food store in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday).
Reports on Facebook suggested Haran's All in One Store in Norfolk Street was petrol-bombed but a spokesman for Cambridgeshire Fire Service said this was not the case. However, the cause was deliberate and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
Two crews from Wisbech were called at around 3.42am and firefighters arrived to find the business premises on fire.
Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and returned to their station by 5.25am.
A nearby business owner confirmed it was Haran's that had been targeted.
A fire service spokesman said: "The cause of the fire was deliberate. Anyone with information should contact police by visiting www.cambs.police.uk to submit an online report or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
