Artists wanted for fundraising art show and sale




A Chatteris charity group has put a shout out for local artists as it plans a fundraising event.

Community Defibrillators for Chatteris are holding a fundraising Art Show and Sale, on Saturday July 20, 10am to 3pm, at the Bricstan Rooms, at the parish church, and are calling out to all local artists to take part.

Paintings, using any medium and size, will be on display for members of the public to view and hopefully purchase. All proceeds, minus an entrance fee per painting, will be paid to the artist, so it is hoped that everybody will benefit from the day.

Entrance for the public will be by donation on the door. Refreshments; sale table and tombola will also be available, with the proceeds going towards funding a third defibrillator for Chatteris.

Community Defibrillators for Chatteris recently their CPR evening which saw 18 local residents, ages ranging from 16 to 94 years,take part.

Using the British Heart Foundation Call Push Rescue equipment and training DVD, they learned how to perform chest compression's and rescue breathing that can save lives while waiting for an ambulance to arrive.

Participants were also shown how and when to use a defibrillator in an emergency situation.

Training was provided by Community First Responders Lisa and Barbara who represent Manea and March.
