Attack in Wisbech leaves man and woman with serious injuries




A police investigation is under-way in Wisbech after a man and woman were both taken to hospital following an attack by up to four men yesterday (Sunday) afternoon.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire police said: “We were called at 2.46pm yesterday (26 July) to reports of suspicious activity at a house in Oil Mill Lane in Wisbech.

Officers attended the scene where they found a man in his 40s and a woman in her 60s who had been assaulted.

The pair had been assaulted by up to four men and left with serious injuries. Both were taken to hospital, where the man remains. The woman has since been discharged. The incident is believed to be isolated and an investigation has been launched.
