Gail Burgess School of Ballet group met with ‘amazing cheers’ during performance at Neale-Wade Academy in March

A ballet school in Fenland was greeted with “amazing cheers” during its annual show in March on Saturday.

The ballet group from the Gail Burgess School of Ballet performed at the Neale-Wade Academy in front of friends and family, as part of the summer show.

A total of 95 children aged from three to 17 took part in the event with funds raised supporting the ballet school, where they hold lessons in March and at The Victory Hall in Somersham.

Ballet teacher Gail Burgess said: “It was really good and the children really enjoyed it.”

She added: “There was lots of cheering and clapping especially for the younger students – they got amazing cheers when they came on.”

The event which happens every year previously had to be halted in 2020 for two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
