Banned Wisbech found behind the wheel on A17
A banned Wisbech driver was found behind the wheel on the A17.
Kacper Rzepecki, 22, was pulled over by police at East Heckington in Lincolnshire at 3am on May 20.
He was pulling a trailer attached to a Suzuki Gran Vitara.
Checks showed that he had been disqualified on August 2 last year.
And a search of the vehicle turned up about two grams of amphetamine, a class B drug.
Appearing at Boston Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, Rzepecki pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and drug possession.
The court was told that commission of the offences breached a suspended sentence order imposed last December for failing to comply with unpaid work.
And he was also on a current community order imposed in April for drug possession.
Helen Coney, mitigating, said: “Mr Rzepecki simply didn’t know about the disqualification but he’s not somebody who holds a licence in any event.”
She added that he had completed all unpaid work attached to the suspended sentence order.
The bench decided not to activate the six weeks’ custody, suspended for one year, but to let it continue to run.
Rzepecki, of Leverington Road, was banned from driving for six months and fined £276.
He was fined £184 for the drug matter and £100 for the breach.
An order was made for payment of £85 costs and £46 victim surcharge.
