Beaupre School pupils’ art project proves a crowning glory
An art project proved a crowning glory for the children of one Fenland school.
Pupils at Beaupre School in Outwell took part in a whole school art project on Friday inviting their parents, grandparents and carers in to the classroom to help with their work.
The project which was to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III saw every pupils decorate a rock for a new community garden which will be in front of the school.
The theme for the rocks was based on Louis Armstrong’s song ‘What a wonderful world’ and children painted what they thought was wonderful.
Afterwards there was a whole school picnic complete with live music, which was originally planned for outdoors but rain meant it was moved indoors and a special tree planting to commemorate the historic weekend, also had to be postponed because of the weather.
Earlier in the week the children had been busy making crowns and bunting and other royal decorations for the school ready for the picnic and art project day.
