Tasting the best brews at Wisbech

Around 1,000 people turned out for Elgood’s Brewery’s 10th beer festival at Wisbech over the weekend to celebrate - and taste - the best of the region’s ales.

The highlight was the judging of the Society of Independent Breweries’ eastern region beer competition.

There were 120 different ales up for judging and the winner was Leigh on Sea Brewery’s ‘dark brown’ offering labelled SS9.

The event was opened up to the public on Saturday and Sunday - for the pleasant task of drinking the ales and listening to live music including local bands.
