Tower captain at All Saints Church Bob Cox, who is also Wisbech district bell ringing president, said they had decided to demonstrate bell ringing for the themed weekend, as it is part of the church’s heritage.
He added: “It went quite well, we had two new recruits who showed an interest and we had people who were returning to ringing who came along as well.
“The idea was to get as many people as possible to have a go at the bells.”

Mr Cox said the event was also part of the Ringing Remembers campaign to recruit 1,400 new bell ringers to commemorate the 1,400 bell ringers who died in the First World War.
The tower at All Saints Church has a level of prestige as it is the only tower in the Wisbech district accredited by the association of ringing teachers.
