Chatteris fire nearly reached parked cars

An accidental blaze was extinguished by firefighters yesterday (Monday) before it spread to nearby cars.
Crews from Chatteris and March, along with a water carrier from Ramsey, were called to the fire on Fenland Way in Chatteris at 3.45pm.
Firefighters arrived to find a large blaze involving rubbish and cylinders that was spreading to nearby cars. They extinguished the fire using hose reels and returned to their stations by 8pm.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
