A Wisbech school will be able to buy a new polytunnel thanks to a donation.

Meadowgate School Horticulture Department has been presented with a £500 cheque from Wisbech Freemasons.

The school is now running a RHS Horticulture course and will use the money to replace the polytunnel.

Sixth form co-ordinator Emma Bird said: “We are very excited to be offering this course for our students as horticulture is an industry which offers opportunities in the local area.

“We would like to demonstrate the skills of our students to our local employers through the achievement of this nationally recognised qualification.

“We are therefore very grateful for the support shown to us by the Wisbech Freemasons.”
