By George! Becky is winner of the Chatteris name the bear competition




A fundraising effort by the Cross Keys Hotel in Chatteris has given a boost to the town's annual Poppy Appeal.
The hotel and restaurant in Market Hill started its fundraising with the sale of unique stained glass poppy ornaments, and the amount from this is yet to be finalised.
The second was a name the soldier bear competition, which saw entrants pick a name on a board with the winner being announced on Remembrance Sunday.

Norman Larke, from Chatteris Royal British Legion, chose the winner with Becky Edgley Cooper having the lucky square. She has now become the proud owner of 'George' the bear.
A total of £200 was raised by the competition, which will be added to other money raised for the appeal by the hotel for the appeal, which is run by David and Rebecca Leaning.
