Long Sutton market set-up disrupted by overnight parking
Calls have been made for greater parking enforcement in Long Sutton after the market was disrupted this morning (Friday, July 17).
Some stalls were not able to set out in their new places in the centre of Market Place due to cars parking in the area overnight despite the signage.
Market Place is now closed on a Friday morning to allow stalls to be laid out in the middle of the road to ensure social distancing.
South Holland district councillor David Wilkinson is calling on Lincolnshire County Council to enforce the new restrictions after 10 cars were parked there this morning.
Coun Wilkinson, who has also been verbally abused by drivers, said: "We have been asking Lincolnshire County Council to send the enforcement officer down here.
"We had to move the flower stall as he could not set up as there were three cars parked there. We also had to move the bread man.
"The market was going really well and we have had so many positive comments about the new layout and we are trying to encourage more traders."
