Call for nominations for the true heroes of Fenland

If you know a local hero, now’s the time to nominate them to be recognised and celebrated at the Pride in Fenland Awards 2025.

The annual awards honour people who make a difference in our district.

Run by Fenland District Council, they are for people who make an impact through being community-minded, kind, selfless, brave or overcoming adversity. Nominations can be for people who have done an incredible one-off deed as well as those who have offered lifelong service.

In most cases, awards are for community champions whose efforts benefit an organisation, community, village or town, but in some cases, the impact may be more specific, such as a courageous young carer.

Cllr Susan Wallwork, Fenland District Council’s portfolio holder for community, said: “These awards are a highlight of the Fenland calendar because they are a chance to celebrate the people who really matter.

“They’re about finding and recognising the true heroes of our community who look out for others and make a massive difference.

“If you know an individual, group or young person who fits the bill, we want to hear about them.

“These awards are wonderful because of the people at the heart of them.”

Nominations are not restricted to specific categories. If you know someone deserving, simply complete a nomination form.

The closing date for nominations for Pride in Fenland 2025 is Monday, June 2.
