Camelot comes to Church Farm at Stow Bardolph
Knights were seen boldly jousting on fine... ride-on John Deere tractors!
Staff at Church Farm in Stow Bardolph offered their own take on the Tales of Camelot during last week’s half-term.
Around 2,000 people went along to admire its rare breed farm animals along with enjoying a host of activities.
Youngsters had a go at dragon slaying during one game, along with attempting to pull out King Arthur’s legendary sword Excalibur from the stone.
Another attraction during the week was the arrival of two litters of piglets.
A member of staff also had fun dressing up as a knight and had a chance to ride Bernard the Suffolk Punch horse. This is one of Britain’s oldest breeds of working horses but there are now just 520 animals worldwide.
General manager William Esse said: “We are not really keen on ghosts and ghouls and wanted to offer something different but fun.
“It was absolutely brilliant.”
In December, the farm will be offering families a look at how the real nativity scene would have looked with cattle, goats and other animals alongside the manger.
