Wisbech photographers submit 53 entries in Camera Club competition
Amateur photographers submitted a total of 53 images for judging in Wisbech and District Camera Club’s Print of the Year competition on Monday, April 4.
The task of selecting the winners fell to Nick Akers ARPS, BPE3, from the East Anglian Federation and North Norfolk Photographic Society.
The entries were spread across six categories.
Winner of the Creative section was ‘Black and White Mugs’ by Martin Smart and the Landscape and Seascape winner was ‘Stepping Stones’ by Judy Hodgson.
The Natural History section went to Ruff (Caldiris Pugnax) by Maurice Wright while the open colour category went to Robert Stoppard’s action shot ‘98 Takes the Bend’.
The fifth winner in the Open Monochrome section was ‘Waiting’ by Maurice Wright.
The Portrait and People prize rounded off the judging and went to ‘The Holy Man’ by Judy Hodgson.
Once the six main categories were decided, the judge had to choose the best print in his view. He picked the Natural History section winner with Caldiris Pugnax) entered by the club’s vice-president Maurice Wright.
The competition was held at the Conservative Club in Alexandra Road, Wisbech, and followed the projected digital evening held the previous week.
That evening more than 60 entries were submitted.
