Children in schools across Fenland celebrated World Book Day yesterday by dressing as some of their favourite characters.
From Willy Wonka to Cinderella there were costumes galore in classrooms everywhere.
At the Cromwell Community College in Chatteris the primary phase children and staff, as well as secondary phase English staff and some members of the sixth form dressed up.

Characters included Cat in a Hat, pirates, princesses, Highway Rat and Mary Poppins.
Marshland High School hosted an author and illustrator as part of World Book Day celebrations.
The West Walton School invited Pen Avey, who is also a poet and lives in Norfolk, to speak to students about her work and the importance of reading for pleasure. Her latest release, Dear Earthling:Cosmic Correspondent also features illustrations she created.

Pupils also completed themed activities in the school library.
Kingsfield Primary School in Chatteris saw children dress up as Little Red Riding Hood, Matilda and of course Harry Potter.
