Chatteris mayor raises £370 with sponsored leg wax

Chatteris mayor James Carney stripped off for charity with a sponsored leg wax last week.
Around 10 people went along to the Chatteris Town Council offices on Thursday last week to cheer on Cllr Carney as he baldly went on. Natasha Parsley of Tranquility beauty parlour in Chatteris gave up her time to wax the councillor’s legs and Whitney Pope who was recently crowned “Miss Junior Teen Inspiration Cambridgeshire 2015-16” who also attended. Cllr Carney raised £370 for the mayor’s fund, which will be divided up between local good causes next year. He said: “The leg waxing wasn’t as bad as I feared it would be.”
