Chatteris Summer Fun 2020 will go on as lockdown eases
Chatteris Town Council is delighted to announce that it has found a way to rescue its annual Summer Fun shows for young children and bring some much needed entertainment to the town after the bleak days of the pandemic.
Thanks to a change in the rules outdoor theatre is now permitted and two carefully managed shows will be held at Furrowfields Recreation Ground at 11am on Fridays August 28 and September 4, weather permitting.
Families will be invited to bring along their own picnic blankets which will be set out to ensure social distancing and children will be required to keep to those blankets.
From their vantage points they will be able to watch two highly entertaining shows. On August 28 the ever popular Booster Cushion will return to Chatteris to perform Little Red Riding Hood and Friends and on September 4 a theatre group new to Chatteris, Mad Etiquette, will present Captain Cauliflower and Marvin the Mischievous Moose. The shows are aimed at children aged from three to eight but will appeal to all those who are young at heart.
There will be no charge for either show but numbers are limited so please book your slot in advance by emailing chatteriscouncil@btconnect.com or ringing 01354 695166. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. The entertainment will either be cancelled or moved to another date in the event of wet weather – watch out for posts on Facebook.
