Cheese and pear tarts as a snack
If you’re looking for a light snack or something that could be accompanied by a salad, how about this recipe for cheese and pear tarts?
Ingredients:
475g ready rolled puff pastry sheet
50g redcurrant jelly
2 pears, cored and cut into thin wedges
45g St Agur cheese
To serve:
12 small sprigs watercress (optional)
Method:
Preheat the oven to 200˚C/fan 180˚C/Gas 6.
Unroll the puff pastry and cut into 12 rectangles.
Place the rectangles on a baking sheet and score a border about 3-4mm inside the edges of each one.
Bake for 15 minutes until slightly golden.
Flatten the pastry inside the borders and spread with redcurrant jelly.
Top each one with 2 thin wedges of pear and crumble over the cheese.
Bake for 10 minutes, until the cheese has melted. Serve topped with a sprig of watercress, if you wish.

Cooking time: 25 minutes
