Sutton St James attempted robbery: cigarettes believed to be the target
It's believed cigarettes were the intended target when masked men attempted to rob The Convenience Store in Sutton St James.
The incident on Chapel Gate happened last night (Thursday) at 7.20pm.
One eye witness said three men left the store empty handed and joined a fourth man in a black car that was outside with its engine running.
Shocked villagers have today been expressing their support for the shop staff.
Lincolnshire Police are investigating and said today that three arrests were made in Cambridgeshire a short time later.
Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
