Wisbech's Light Cinema to close after Wednesday

The Light Cinema in Wisbech will be closing its doors after Wednesday, following Government advice on the coronavirus pandemic.

There is a full programme of films there tomorrow before it becomes the latest business to be hit.

A statement read: "Following the latest advice from the Government concerning Coronavirus, we have had to make the hard decision to close our cinema from Thursday, March 19 onwards. This is an extremely difficult time for everyone including our dedicated and passionate team and our fantastic customers and our thoughts are with anyone who has been impacted by the situation.

"We will be back as soon as we possibly can. In the meantime, we are doing the following things:

  • "Automatically refunding all affected tickets that were booked online. These may take several days to find their way to your bank account so please be patient. We'll send you an email to let you know when we process your refund.
  • "If you made a booking in person at the cinema, please call our helpline as detailed below and we will follow up as soon as we can.
  • "Suspending our Infinity subscription programme. We will be in touch with members shortly to give more details on what we are doing to resolve this.
  • "Answering any questions you may have. Our support line is 01702 822000 or email help@lightcinemas.co.uk. We may experience high call volumes so please bear with us.
  • "We want to thank you for being a part of The Light. Once this period of hibernation is over, we look forward to welcoming you back."
