Fenland creatives to launch new hub with a party at Wisbech
The new Creative Fenland Hub is launching with a ‘come and meet us’ party at Wisbech on Thursday, April 20.
The hub is an offshoot of Creative Fenland and will offer a virtual space for local creatives with a passion for art and community to connect.
Eight ‘Creative Fenland Agents’ from across the Fens have teamed up and will co-ordinate the live and ever-growing Facebook group.
They hope that fellow creatives will join them at the launch party between 2-4pm at the Queen Mary Centre, Wisbech.
They say: “Join Creative Fenland and its Creative Agents to celebrate creativity in your area with an exhibition of artwork and an opportunity to add your own mark in paint to a live communal canvas! It will be a great chance to meet the team and enjoy refreshments and cake.
If you would like to attend the party, please RSVP to dan@creativefenland.org.uk so they can make sure there’s enough cake for everyone.
Local artist and resident, Dan Donovan, lead Creative Fenland Agent, said “This has been a really exciting project to be part of. In helping set up this initiative I have discovered so many more wonderful artists and already existing groups that have welcomed this opportunity to be part of a greater creative community and keep the arts alive.”
Creative Fenland was launched in 2022 by Cambridge Community Arts who have been running creative arts activities in Fenland since 2018. It uses the transformational power of quality creative arts to connect with people and communities, improving health and wellbeing. The project is funded by the Arts Council England.
