Nine 12 Hospitality are winners of best new start-up in Fenland Citizen Business Awards 2024
For husband and wife Lee and Hollie Summerscales, nothing is too much of an ask when they come and cater your event.
The couple who run Nine 12 Hospitality based in Holbeach were crowned as winners of the best new start-up category in this year’s Fenland Citizen Business Awards.
Since Hollie started Nine 12 in 2021 after making the jump from her corporate job, she has seen the number of clients expand rapidly and now regularly caters for Leicestershire County Cricket Club and the Law Society.
Business is booming as the pair are booked in to cover 110 events this year.
Hollie said: “We came here hoping we’d win but we weren’t sure because hospitality sometimes can be a bit passed over.
“It is a hard industry and it doesn’t always the kudos it deserves, its long hours so to talk away with an award, we’re speechless.”
Hollie and Lee say they offer a personal experience and both are always at any event they cater to.
Nine 12 Hospitality offer bring a bar serving a range of different drinks and are continuing to expand their business.
Hollie added: “We are husband and wife and I get to work with my best friend and soulmate every day of the week and I get up every Monday morning with the biggest smile on my face.
“We’ve got so much commitment and passion in what we do and we love this business so much. When you’re dealing with us, you’re dealing with me and Lee and we’re there on the day and we’re asking if everything is okay.”
Nine 12 Hospitality were up against Advanced Precision Technologies Limited and Boxcross UK.
The category was judged by Andy Silley of ST1 Group and Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce who decided Nine 12 Hospitality was the worthy winner.
Andy said: “The husband and wife team have developed their well thought out product and service offer exceptionally well and have built up an enviable ‘Blue-Chip’ client base, including Siemens, Leicestershire County Cricket Club and the University of Edinburgh, to name but a few.
“They have a clear business plan with further planned investment, including adding more bar units and adding to their employee team and it will be interesting to see where they take their business in the next few years.”
