Concerns over fly-tipping, e-scooters, and anti-social behaviour raised at March Town Council meeting

Police have been made aware of concerns raised at the latest March Town Council meeting including fly-tipping, e-scooters and anti-social behaviour.

On Monday evening, March mayor, Cllr Gary Christy, acknowledged concerns raised by officers during a meeting he had with police, including the use of e-scooters.

Cllr Christy said an e-scooter was seized from someone last week after it was being driven illegally.

Further actions have also been taken against a youth who has been accused of anti-social behaviour and now has court orders against him and who has been fitted with a tag.

During the council meeting, the mayor also told councillors that officers are doing some patrols around an area in March as they believe there are vehicles involved in criminal activities.

He said: “The last couple of weeks, there were two convictions for drug-related crimes in March and police are having a good crack down on that, and last Thursday, a warrant took place at 6am.”

Cllr Tim Taylor also raised concerns about a ‘horrendous’ amount of fly-tipping in Wimblington with what looks to be around six van loads of rubbish dumped. He wants the police to look into this and put a stop to it.
