Former West Walton farmer celebrates 100th birthday at Terrington St John care home
A former West Walton farmer has celebrated her 100th birthday at a Terrington St John care home.
Despite current lockdown restrictions Connie Scott celebrated her big day on June 18 in the garden of Burman House. She was joined by close members of her family while observing social distancing rules.
Connie received many lovely cards and presents but was especially pleased to receive a card from the Queen. She was presented with a lovely cake made by Pauline, from Burman House, which was delicious.
Connie worked hard at Grange Farm, Mill Road, West Walton, with her husband Horace and son Graham (both deceased) until 1999 when they all retired.
Connie and Horace then moved into the Annexe at Graham and his wife Julie's bungalow in Yorkshire and spent many happy years there until Horace died in 2003.
After Graham died in 2014, Connie first moved to Legg Bourke Court in Walsoken and then to Burman House where she has made many friends and is being very well looked after.
Her family thanked all the staff there for keeping Connie and the other residents safe during the coronavirus pandemic.
