Three new deaths related to the coronavirus outbreak have been confirmed at Lynn's Queen Elizabeth Hospital today.

The cases take the total number of fatalities linked to Covid-19 at the QEH to 129 since the crisis began in March.

QEH chief executive Caroline Shaw said in a statement: “The deaths of three of our patients, who had tested positive for COVID-19, have been confirmed today – a woman in her 60s and a man and a women in their 80s.

"Our thoughts and condolences are with their families at this difficult time.”

The updated daily figures from NHS England reveal two of the deaths occurred on Tuesday, while the third was last Sunday.

So far, they are the only virus-related deaths recorded by the QEH in the past week, a statistic which may support the view of senior medics that the initial peak of the outbreak here has passed.
