March reader: Councils should be ashamed

Regarding no street lights at The Birches, March (Citizen, November 27).

This shambles is caused by our useless council and county council, who will not spend £1,000 on nine light bulbs but have no problem wasting £90,000 of council tax money on a revamped skateboard park.

This council should hang their heads in shame the way they are treating our residents, who are paying for street lighting we haven’t got.

No doubt they will be having a Christmas jolly-up at our expense.
