Conservative’s Samantha Hoy remains as councillor for Wisbech East at Cambridgeshire County Council elections
A Conservative councillor has kept her seat in the Cambridgeshire County Council elections.
Samantha Hoy says she will “just keep doing what she’s doing” after it was announced that she will remain the representative for Wisbech East.
With 974 votes - roughly 100 more than Reform UK candidate Nick Brooks - she plans to continue to serve the area as she has done since June 2015.
“I want to say thank you to everyone who has voted for me, it means a lot,” she said.
“It’s going to be interesting to see what the future holds because the county council is going to be a completely different picture from what we are seeing.
“I am going to continue to represent residents from every walk of life, wherever they are from, and provide local services.”
Other nominees were:
• Nick Brooks (Reform UK) - 871 votes
• Toby Robert Ensch (Green Party) - 63 votes
• Joshua Matthew Lee (Liberal) Democrats - 81 votes
• Didem Ucuncu (Labour) - 140 votes
The total amount of votes for the ward was 2,133, representing a 28.38% turnout.
