Crews spent nearly two hours extinguishing bonfire which spread to derelict buildings in Gorefield




Crews managed to extinguish a large blaze in a village yesterday evening.

Appliances from Wisbech and March were called at 4.57pm on Sunday to a fire in the open on Wolf Lane in Gorefield.

Firefighters arrived to find a bonfire spreading to two derelict buildings. Using hose reels, they put out the flames and were at the scene until around 6.45pm.

The cause of the fire was deemed to be accidental.
