Long Sutton dad, who launched worldwide campaign for equal parenting rights, marking Parental Alienation Awareness Day in home city
A dad from Long Sutton who has launched a worldwide campaign for equal parenting rights will be marking Parental Alienation Awareness Day in his home city.
Portsmouth landmark The Spinnaker Tower will be lit up green on Friday, April 25 for PAPA (People Against Parental Alienation), a campaign group started by Simon Cobb.
Other Fenland members of PAPA are heading down for the event, which Simon has dubbed “the world’s largest tribute to alienated parents and children”.
Simon has experienced fighting for equal access for his son Arlo after splitting with his partner. He moved from Portsmouth to south Lincolnshire to be closer to him and started PAPA in 2016.
PAPA’s mantra is ‘The best child support is equal parenting’, and its mission is to reconnect children with parents by making 50/50 shared parenting the default position and child support voluntary when responsibility is equally shared.
The awareness day is held to spotlight the effects of parental alienation and how harmful it can be when one parent undermines the child’s relationship with the other.
Simon believes that during custody disputes, one parent often gets a lot more support such as housing and child benefits, while the other can be eft in financial “ruin”.

Those travelling to Portsmouth on the day are meeting at The Keppels Head and the Ship & Castle on The Hard in Portsmouth.
