A mum is appealing for help in tracking down the handbag belonging to her devasted six-year-old daughter which was lost during a bus ride.

Zoe Elsegood says daughter Mika is upset as the handbag contained £45, which including birthday money, along with a treasured Jelly purse.

The mother and daughter, who live in Emneth, had decided to avoid the traffic into Wisbech and travelled on the 11.44am Norfolk Green 60 bus on Monday, December 22.

They arrived in Wisbech at 12.05 and while on the short walk between the bus station and Burger King, realised the bag was missing.

Miss Elsegood, whose glasses were also contained in the bag, believes it had been left on the back seat.

She has reported this to the police and Norfolk Green, who could not find the bag, which is dusky pink with a scarf bow.

Miss Elsegood, who also put an appeal out over Facebook, said: “Mika is devastated. She had wanted the purse for a long time and we only bought it a few weeks ago. Now it is gone.

“If anyone has seen it or knows where it is please do give it back.”
