Dilapidated The Bridge Hotel in Sutton Bridge is back on the market

A dilapidated hotel is once again back on the market – just over a year after it last went under the hammer.

The Bridge Hotel in Sutton Bridge is once again due to be sold via an online auction on February 15 with a guide price of £180,000.

The remains of the hotel have become an eyesore at the entrance of the village after it was ravaged by a blaze.

Hopes were high last year that something would finally happen with the grotspot after it was sold via an online auction for a surprising £181,000 - far higher than the £80,000 to £100,000 guide price.

Sadly nothing has happened with the site.

Members of South Holland District Council were told at a recent meeting that the owners had not registered with the Land Registry.

The hotel – which does not have a roof – has a total of 21 bedrooms with 18 ‘benefitting from ensuite bathrooms’, according to the latest listing on Rightmove.

The property website goes onto say: “This former 21 room hotel is situated beside the River Nene with rural views. The property has many possibilities including a development site and stands with views of the famous Sutton Bridge. It lies on the borders of Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire. The town has shopping facilities and the A17 road link to Kings Lynn and Spalding.”
