Do you know where this First World War picture was taken of Elm man Fred Loose?
A Fenland man is hoping Citizen readers can help identify where this photograph was taken in 1917.
Roger Loose, who lives in Spalding, was given the photo by an elderly relative because his grandfather Fred Loose is pictured.
He explained the picture is on a five inch postcard that was sent in November 1917 by Fred to let his family know he was well after suffering a shrapnel injury to his shoulder in the third battle of Ypres.
Roger said: "Unfortunately I haven't got the envelope so I don't know where it was posted from. All the soldiers are wearing light blue suits and red ties, which was the uniform for the injured. My grandfather is the man on the right hand side on the third row up between the two nurses.
"He lived in Elm and where he worked as a horseman on a farm and was called up in 1915 at the age of 20. He served in Company C of the Cambridgeshire Regiment, so it is possible there are other local men on the picture.
"I am really curious to know the picture was taken. It is clearly a field hospital of some kind, but could have been taken in Belgium, France or even England. Looking at it I would think it is more likely taken abroad. I would love to hear from anyone who knows anything about it."
