Doddington Village Show attracts hundreds of entries and hundreds of visitors too
The 73rd annual Doddington Village Show was a blooming success with people of all ages taking part.
There were hundreds of entries, hundreds of people and a really lovely atmosphere at Doddington Village Hall. The children’s section was overflowing.
There was also a flourishing number of flowers and plant entries from the village's green-fingered gardeners. Other categories included cakes, preserves, wine and breads from the cooks in the village.
Vegetables were well represented too and a lot of the produce was auctioned off by Freddie Grounds during a fun auction at the end of the afternoon.
Posting on Facebook, parish council chairman Ruth Hufton, said: "Congratulations to all of the winners, and thanks to all who made this event possible, to the donors of prizes and to Chapel Cottage Plants for the really lovely plants that were on sale at the show.
"Our Rector told me that this was the best village show he had ever been to (and I think he has been to a few) and I wanted to echo his remark. As I’ve said before, Doddington is great - who would wish to live anywhere else? Thanks to you all but especially to the committee members and to all of the helpers on the day."
