Drink driver is lucky to be alive say police after crashing into stationary lorry in Wisbech




Police issued images of a crash in Wisbech last night (Monday) with the serious message 'don't drink and drive'.

Posting on their Facebook page Fenland police officers said they were called to Sandall Road, at about 9.20pm last night after we receiving a report that a vehicle had hit a stationary HGV.

Officers along with the ambulance service attended the scene. The driver failed the road side breath test by providing a reading of 115mgs per 100ml of breath the legal limit is 35mgs.

The driver was arrested at the scene and was transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn by ambulance after receiving injuries. The vehicle was recovered at the scene.

Commenting on the incident the officers said: "Please look at this photo, take one message from this. Don’t drink and drive!

"One driver lucky to be alive and now under arrest."
