Emneth man drove with three different drugs in system
An Emneth man had been given a suspended prison sentence after being caught driving with three drugs in his system.
It was the second such offence in six months for Adam James Coleman (25).
King’s Lynn Magistrates’ Court heard on Thursday that Coleman was stopped in Ollard Avenue, Wisbech, at around midnight on March 23. He failed a roadside drug wipe and was later found to have in his system a cocaine derivative (622 micrograms per litre of blood; specified limit 50), a cannabis derivative (3.9mcg, limit two) and ketamine (64mcg, limit 20).
Coleman pleaded guilty to three counts of drug-driving. The bench was told that he was disqualified from driving for 18 months in June for the same offence.
“These offences pre-date that conviction and sentence,” said Tiffany Meredith in mitigation. “He has made clear that he has ceased any taking of class A drugs and he’s getting help with his misuse of cannabis.”
Coleman was given 12 weeks’ custody, suspended for 24 months and disqualified from driving for two years (to run concurrently with the previous ban). He was also handed a 24-month community order with 30 rehabilitation activity requirement days and ordered to pay £85 costs and £115 victim surcharge.
