Drug driver arrested in Wisbech after admitting smoking cannabis the night before getting behind the wheel

While out early in Wisbech town centre, officers arrested a driver who later admitted to smoking cannabis the night before.

The Wisbech Neighbourhood Policing Team stopped the driver on Union Street yesterday morning.

While speaking to the driver, cannabis was discovered in their vehicle and they admitted to smoking some of the Class B drug the night before.

They were arrested after a drugs test came back positive, indicating that they had cannabis in their system.

The driver was taken to King’s Lynn’s police investigation centre for further tests but was later released under investigation while their blood was sent off to be tested.
