Wisbech people helped to get more active by new leisure trust

Helping people in Wisbech to get more active is the aim of a scheme which has been running since May.

Active Community Manager for Freedom Leisure Chris Bryden went along to Wisbech Town Council meeting last night (Monday, October 21) to give an update of its activities.

Freedom Leisure has a 15 year partnership with Fenland District Council to manage and operate the area’s four leisure centres, including the Hudson.

Since May, he has been helping to introduce cricket to youngsters in March, over 75s swimming at the pools and working with 37 different organisations.

He also outlined that a student gym will be starting with the College of West Anglia’s Uniformed Services group.

Coun Peter Human asked for a meeting with Mr Bryden and the district council to discuss the future of Wisbech Bowls Club, which was agreed.
