Manea Community Primary School rated as ‘good’ in latest Ofsted inspection
A “family feel” is one of the reasons a community primary school has maintained its good Ofsted rating.
Manea Community Primary School received a visit from the education inspectors last month, with the recent report stating that relationships between staff and pupils are “warm and respectful”.
The Ofsted report states that pupils feel “valued and part of the Manea community” and that leaders have high expectations of pupils’ behaviour.
The report said: “The school understands pupils’ individual needs well. This includes pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
“Children experience care and nurture from the moment they arrive in the early years. Pupils appreciate the wonderful outdoor environment.”
Ofsted says that the school is taking effective action to improve pupils’ outcomes, which are below the national average.
It said: “Pupils are encouraged to develop a love of reading. There is an abundance of books across the school for pupils to enjoy. Children begin to learn to read as soon as they start school.”
The report adds that the school’s curriculum is well planned out and that in physical education (PE) lessons, pupils can explain their learning
