Worzals Farm Shop in Wisbech receives two Great Taste Awards for their pies
Worzals Farm Shop in Wisbech has received a Great Taste Award for two of their popular homemade pies in the world’s most coveted Food and Drinks Awards.
Great Taste is judged by 144 of the most discerning palates including food critics, chefs, restaurateurs, buyers, retailers, food writers, and journalists, and is considered as one of the most highly regarded and trusted awards in the Food and Drink industry.
After submitting some of the Farm Shop’s most-loved pies for the award, the Chicken, Ham, and Leek pie, and the Sunday Roast pie both came up trumps.
In the blind tasting, the judges described Worzals Roast Dinner Pie as “an attractive and visually pleasing pie that cuts well and is well-filled with generous pieces of chicken, stuffing, and sage. The pastry is delicious, buttery and tender.”
Commenting on the Chicken, Ham, and Leek pie which was also a winner back in 2020.
The judges described it as: “A fulfilling and wholesome pie, clearly using great quality ingredients. The pastry looks appetising with a crisp, golden finish. There are large chunks of meat, flaky pastry, and creamy sauce, with a good balance of flavours and well-seasoned.”
Owner, Joe Curson said: “We are delighted to be recognised with a Great Taste Award once again. We make all our pies by hand using our family recipes and they are a firm favourite amongst our customers. We will be wearing our black and gold Great Taste label with pride.”
