Dave Hayter, who runs Strattons Farm Campsite at Walton Highway attends a group run by constultant Carrie McNaughton at Elm Church on Tuesday evenings.

The grandfather explained: "Being a big chap anyway I've always carried a lot of weight although being a lorry driver and running the caravan park/campsite did keep me quite busy.

"As a lot of business people would know running your ow business comes with a lot of stress at times and being sat in my lorry for hours at time to keep my business going didn't help my weight

"I just piled on the weight over the years to a point where I would be considered obese.

"Then my baby granddaughter arrived and the first photo I had with Alara really hit home - I was almost ashamed of myself.

"I contacted Carrie a good friend and customer and asked if she could help with my weight issue and she was happy to sign me up to her Slimming World group.

"The group was very supportive and inclusive for both men and women who want to lose the pounds. Everyone supports each other and cheers on your success as the weight comes off.

"I found all slimming world meals to be more than adequate, I could even enjoy a full English breakfast complete with sausages. I found it the perfect diet for me.

"I hit my target and have received my eight and a half stone award and I achieved it in five months. No extra exercise just doing my daily routine including still long hours driving my lorry. I feel so much better and I continue to follow the Slimming World routine because I want to make sure the weight stays off.

The group meets at Elm Church on Tuesdays at 5.30pm or 7pm.

Carrie also runs a group at Emneth Central Hall on Tuesday mornings at 9.30am and is about to launch a new group on Wednesday mornings at Wisbech Rugby Club from 9.30am starting this week (30).
