Fenland holiday firm owner completes Welsh Three Peaks Challenge
Fenland businesswoman Christina Fitzpatrick has completed the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge in support of charity.
Christina, who owns travel firm Holiday With Us, took park in the challenge at the weekend with a group of other fundraisers.
The event was in aid of the Tag Rugby Trust, which helps to build a brighter future for youngsters living in South Sudan through rugby.
Christina, and her fellow walkers, completed 22 miles climbing the three highest peaks in Wales in under 24 hours.
Christina, whose business has shops in March, Wisbech and Spalding, said: “Tag Rugby is run by South Sudanese coaches, working with children aged five-16, to promote and teach the sport of rugby, developing player athletes to their highest potential in a positive environment, while encouraging discipline, commitment, integrity and honour both on and off the pitch.
“All funds raised through the challenge will be used to cover the training and development costs in Uganda of five young volunteer leaders from South Sudan, so that they can then develop and train more volunteers in South Sudan.”
The mother of one added: “I have always wanted to do something like this and it was great to be able to do it for such a worthwhile cause.
“It was a fantastic weekend and we had a great team of people. It was challenging, but it was also a great adventure.
“We managed to complete the challenge in 18 hours – which was awesome.”
So far the challenge has raised £1,172 of its target of £3,000.
