Fenland schoolboy's sign of the times brings a smile to passers-by

A March schoolboy Connor Saunders has decorated the fence at his home in a bid to put a smile on the face of passers-by.

The nine-year-old Westwood Primary School pupil originally wanted to paint the fence outside his family home in Elliott Road, but was persuaded by my mum Emma to create something a little less permanent.

Having already created a rainbow for the window, he decided he wanted his message of hope to be bigger and bolder and so he came up with the message: "Together we will get through this - stay safe" and pinned it to the fence.

Now his message is on view for all those on their daily walk or passing in cars to see.
Emma said: "He just wanted to make people smile as they drive or walk by - and he is definitely doing that."
