Fenland town's butterfly bench has landed in new location after repairs

A town finally has its 'butterfly bench' back after repair work to it.

After a lot of months of hard work it is now proudly back on display in a brand new location.

Local craftsman Richard Davies has spent hundreds of volunteer hours to carry out repairs to the bench on behalf of Chatteris in Bloom after it became damaged and was looking the worse for wear.

The bench also had to be moved from its location in the gardens of the King Edward Centre and now has a new home in the gardens near to the entrance of the town's pocket park.

A spokesperson for Chatteris in Bloom said: "We cannot thank Richard enough for all his hard work with this project. Thanks also to Travis Perkins in town for donating various materials."
