Wisbech Town part company with management team in United Counties League Premier Division North
Wisbech Town have parted company with manager Leon Mettam and his assistant Danny Brooks by mutual consent.
The club's 3-1 United Counties League Premier North defeat away to Boston Town on Tuesday night was the management team's final game in charge.
A statement from Wisbech Town read: "Following our poor run of results after the emphatic win against neighbours March Town FC, the management team of Leon Mettam and Danny Brooks and the football club have mutually agreed to part company.
"Paul Brenchley, club chairman, is gutted that it has come to this but wishes both Metts and Brooksy all the very best with their future.
"The club will be forever thankful for the job they did last season and this.
"An interim manager will be appointed for the forthcoming FA Vase game with Godmanchester Rovers this Saturday and the football club hopes that the players and fans will continue to support the club going forward.
"Further comments and updates will follow."
A statement from Mettam and Brooks on Twitter this morning read: "Unfortunately our time at the club has come to an end, something we have mutually agreed.
"We feel we did everything we could over the past 15 months, starting off with no team apart from a goalkeeper to then finish mid-table last season.
"We then built a team with more local lads and strengthened through the summer.
"We want to thank all the fans and staff for the welcome you always gave Brooksy and myself and we feel we brought everyone together a lot more than what we walked into.
"All the best, Metts and Brooksy."
Mettam added: Gutted with this but we leave with our heads held high and are proud of what we built. Onwards and upwards."
Former Lincoln City and King's Lynn striker Mettam arrived at Fountain Fresh Park 15 months ago.
He replaced Allan Ross, who sensationally quit just three weeks before the start of the new United Counties League season last summer.
