Wisbech woman Mia Hansson offers members of the public a chance to see her replica of the Bayeux Tapestry

The final chance to see a Wisbech woman’s replica of the Bayeux Tapestry is coming up.

Mia Hansson has spent the past eight years making a replica of the ancient tapestry which depicts events leading up to the Norman Conquest of England in 1066.

She predicts that it will take her a total of 11 years to complete the mammoth project.

For the final time, on Friday, October 4, Mia will be bringing out the rolls of fabric to St Peter’s Church Hall for members of the public to see.

Mia said: “I will bring as much as I can fit into the hall. All 47 metres, if possible, but at least 30 metres.”

The hall will open at 11am and Mia will start an hour-long talk at 11.30am about the project to make a full-scale Bayeux Tapestry replica.
