Two deliberate fires in same Leverington road

Firefighters say two blazes on a Leverington road on Wednesday night/Thursday morning were started deliberately.

They tackled a fire in the church grounds at 10.58pm on Wednesday and a blaze in the woods at 3.28am.

One crew from Wisbech was called to the church grounds fire on Gorefield Road and used a hose reel to extinguish it, before returning to their station by 11.45pm.

The same crew was called to the second fire on Gorefield Road at 3.28am.

They used a hose reel to extinguish the blaze, before returning to their station by 4.10am.

The cause of both fires was deliberate.
