Firefighters helped more than 20 casualties after fatal A47 Guyhirn crash




Firefighters helped more than 20 casualties after a crash between a double-decker bus and a silver Mazda MX-5 in which the teenage car driver was killed.

Crews from Wisbech and March were called to the accident on the A47 at Guyhirn at 2.47pm on Saturday.

They arrived to find that the car had caught fire following the collision with the Scania bus. An 18-year-old man from March was pronounced dead at the scene.

Working with police and ambulance colleagues, the crews made the area safe and provided help to more than 20 casualties, with six requiring treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn.

The crews returned to their stations by 6pm.
